Care to Prepare: Pack your First Aid Kit for those Accidental Moments

firstAidSpring is here and I am motivated to write about myself – a weekend warrior! For those of us who are not professional athletes with trainers to take care of us, it is so important to be prepared for the bumps, bruises, and mishaps that are a part of our after hours athletic antics! I have found it to be so important to have a first aid kit ready for fast, immediate response. While some of us think of the usual bandages, gauze, elastic wraps, and antibiotic ointments…we don’t realize that this is primarily a reactive kit. We want you to think outside the box and prepare with a reactive and proactive kit that will assist in relieving and healing during times of need.

The following are suggestions to add to your everyday First Aid Kit:
“Boo Boo Balm” or any comfrey/plaintain-based salve or organic herbal balm provides natural antibiotic action to quickly soothe and speed the healing cuts, scrapes, abrasions, rashes, and burns. They usually stop pain and itching, too.
Ching Wan Hung Burn Ointment – This ointment stops burn pain almost immediately and is excellent on all types and degrees of burns- including sun burn! It is the number one burn ointment used in hospitals in China.
Dit Da Jow Bruise Liniment – This Chinese “hit medicine” provides pain relief and reduces swelling on all manner of bumps, bruises and swelling caused by impact injuries. Heal those black and blue marks faster by stimulating healing circulation.
Po Chai Pills – These magic pills provide fastest relief for indigestion, hangover, even motion sickness. – They also reduce nausea from radiation therapy.
San Huang San Herbal Ice – This all natural herbal combo reduces swelling from the trauma of sprains and strains – far more effectively than the traditional ice pack by improving circulation and stimulating healing. Messy but magic!

Sometimes, with sports and daily activities we need a more sophisticated kit to treat the incidents that come out of these situations. Click Here to see an Extended First Aid Kit that covers a wide range of reactive and proactive treatment aids to have at your disposal. This kit is especially useful for committed athletes, team coaches, physical therapists, and anyone who is serious about reducing pain and healing injuries. We never hope for pain or an injury, but none the less they come. Being prepared for when they do minimizes the effects on your body and life and promotes happy, healthy living.

Wishing you the best in all your endeavors, Pixie
